A 5-year-old boy studied at the Ofa Tui and ‘Amanaki Centre was this morning presented with an award he had won at the 20th Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition in Japan.

The Resident Representative of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency – Shinji Yoshiura presented Sosefo Polutele with the “Earth Plaza” prize from the Governor of the Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.

Tiulipe Peleketi from the Centre said this was an encouraging award for not only Polutele but for the center as well. Peleketi said this serves as proof that children living with disabilities can achieve greatness as well.

Polutele had submitted his drawing for the exhibition last year from the OTA Centre but this year has progressed to mainstream schools to continue his education.
