World Tourism Day successfully marked today.

Minister of Tourism highlighted the significance of World Tourism Day’s theme for 2019 – “Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all” during a special program yesterday evening.
In his remarks, Minister of Tourism Hon Semisi Sika thanked staff of the Ministry for all the hard work they have done which has shown many developments in the country.
The Ministry of Tourism has been the lead in beautifying, protecting and sustaining the environment with its “Masani Connect” initiative of engaging with local communities and villages with clean-up campaign projects.
This year, has seen more cruise ships arriving on our shores compared to previous years due to the Ministry’s initiative of keeping Tonga clean and beautiful.
Not only that, upcoming international flights will be extended to include Niue and China as direct flights to Samoa and Fiji a success.
This week – the Ministry hosted special program at the Vuna Road aiming to entertain people by their “Tonga Masani” group.
World Tourism Day is marked on September 27 every year.
