Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 30/09/2019
The Women of the Anglican Church celebrated their anniversary with a prayer service at St. Paul Anglican Church in Nuku’alofa.
The President of the Mother’s Union – ‘Amelia Tu’inukuafe says the program highlights the significant roles of mothers, also an opportunity for mothers to review their motherly duties especially with their children’s upbringing at home.
Mothers have an important role of encouraging their children to stand firm in their belief in Christ – in all aspects of life.
During the program mothers shared their experiences at home as many are struggling to cope with children facing problems in school and in the community.
Tu’inukuafe hopes that through this program, mothers will become a light at home, in the community also the nation as a whole.
A moment of silence was held to remember women pioneers of the church who have passed on, also women who recently got married even women who moved in and join the church.
Attending the program as the guest of honor was HRH Princess Pilolevu Tuita.
The former patron of the association was the late Queen Halaevalu Mata’aho, in which HRH has vowed to continue in this role.
The theme for this year’s program is “United in Prayer and Worship.”
