The Miss Face of Beauty Tonga 2019 – Lupe Vete has pulled out of the Miss Face of Beauty International pageant. The pageant is expected to be held in the Philippines next month. Lupe Vete has stated that she has “lost interest in pageantry” with many other reasons behind her withdrawal.
In a post on social media, Vete took to Instagram the reasons behind her withdrawal including work responsibilities, family duties, timing conflicts, personal obligations and a shift in priorities in recent months.
Vete adds, she is a “firm believer that when committing to represent Tonga, one should do so wholeheartedly. At this time, she cannot put her best effort forward to representing our little island nation.”
Vete says, beauty pageants are no longer of interest and importance to her as she needs to direct her energy to more meaningful pursuits and therefore, is only fair to grant someone else the opportunity of representing Tonga at the world stage.
Vete was recently announced as Miss Heilala 2018 replacing Kalo Funganitao.
However, no one has been confirmed to take Lupe Vete’s place at this year’s Face of Beauty International pageant.
