The president of Tonga Ma’a Tonga Incorporated has confirmed to Radio and Television Tonga News this afternoon that they are yet to receive the court order circulated on social media, prohibiting them from making any decisions or doing any act which may affect Tonga National Rugby League Incorporated Society.
The court order is between the plaintiffs George Koloamatangi, Petuliki Mafile’o and Tonga National Rugby League Incorporated Society and the Defendants are Tonga Ma’a Tonga Rugby league and Kingdom of Tonga.
A reliable source says the Government and the Tonga Sports Council are yet to receive the same court order.
However, Hon. Justice Niu ordered that the defendants are restrained and prohibited from selecting coaches and management officers and staff of the national rugby league team.
Defendants are also restrained and prohibited from making any decision or doing any act which may affect any right, privilege or obligation of the plaintiffs to govern the sport of rugby league in Tonga – to make decision for the national team of Tonga or to act according to their constitution.
However, with the ongoing saga, President of Tonga Ma’a Tonga Saia Penitani said, they have received letters from NRL and IRLF authorizing Tonga Ma’a Tonga to cooperate during the upcoming tests.
