PM pledges to work on drugs, health, education, and climate change

The newly appointed Prime Minister Hon. Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa this afternoon pledged to continue the fight against drugs in Tonga and promote health and education.
Hon. Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa made the comment during a prayer service hosted by his family and relatives from Makaunga, Talafo’ou, Fo’ui and Tungua together with the Mo’ui Fo’ou ‘ia Kalaisi Fellowship.
PM says he will continue to abide with Tonga’s constitution and laws and to help promote peace and stability in Tonga.
He adds he will work together with the people to address certain issues raised by His Majesty namely combat illicit drugs, promote healthy living and better education for all, promote the trade sector and the economy, support climate resilience program, improve the transportation sector for the tourism industry to grow as well as sectors of trade, fisheries, handicraft makers informal sectors.
Gracing the program were His Serene highness Prince Kalaniuvalu Fotofili, members of nobilities, and the newly appointed cabinet Ministers, diplomatic corps and friends and families also took part in the festivities.
His Majesty King Tupou VI appointed Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa at the royal Palace in Nuku’alofa on Tuesday.
