Lord Tu’ivakano applied to remove charges

Clive Edwards Sr who is representing Lord Tu’ivakano submitted an application to remove 9 of the 15 charges made against his client relating to the issuance of Tongan passports due to insufficient evident.
A ruling will be delivered on October 25th.
The 9 charges include money laundering and accepting of bribes by a Government servant.
Lord Tu’ivakano appeared before the former Lord Chief Justice on October and pleaded not guilty to all 15 charges, which included perjury, making a false statement, money laundering and accepting bribes, relating to the Tongan passports and other charges for possession of firearms and ammunition without a license.
