Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 05/11/2019
Over 4 thousand students this morning began their external exams for Forms 5-7 all around Tonga but the Examination Unit has had to set up special exam centers for students who have been quarantined for measles.
Here in Tongatapu the Head of the Exam Unit says about 15 Forms 5-7 students are sitting their exams at the special exam center at Tonga High School after being advised from the Ministry of Health. A similar exam center has been set up in Vava’u as well at Vava’u High School, after it was confirmed the Ministry of Health’s latest report on measles that there were a few suspected cases in Vava’u.
The Exam Unit is working closely together with the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of the students sitting the exams this year and to minimize the spread of this disease.
There are also health officials at the exam centers to assist students with hygiene kits and vaccinate supervisors if they needed during the exams over the next two weeks.
