Ministry of Health concern over the health of pregnant mothers

The nurses in Public health department at Vaiola hospital are concerned over the health of the pregnant mothers in Tonga.

This is one of the key priorities area highlighted during its one week Reproductive Health Annual Review of Nurses in Public Health Unit at Fa’onelua Convention Centre.

They are reviewing their annual reports especially the Health Centers in outer islands including Tongatapu.

Speaking to Radio Tonga News the Supervisor of nurses in Public Health Unit – Sister Afu Tei says there are many problems faced by many pregnant mothers such as not following up their medical check up and others.

She adds that many mothers are not planning their family well.

Meanwhile Sister Afu Tei said they will try their best to sustain their weaknesses in what it indicates on these annual reports for the future.

A representative from Fiji who’s a doctor working for the UNFPA is participating in this workshop to review these reports.
