Vuna Fa’otusia acquitted of charges due to insufficient evidence

The crown prosecutor has appealed to Supreme Court over a decision made by the Magistrate court to acquit charges against the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice Vuna Fa’otusia.

Fa’otusia was charged with wrongful interference with the course of justice and using threatening language to police officers in a dispute over a stolen cow.

Fa’otusia’s counsel – Sione Fonua said, the decision was based on not enough evidence provided for the case and other grounds.
