Talakeiola Kava Club presents scholarships to 53 students

The Talakeiola kava club of Haveluloto last week presented full-year scholarships to 53 students for the next academic year.

The annual program aims to ensure student completes their high school level and continue to the tertiary level.

People’s Representative of Tongatapu 2 who’s also the former Deputy Prime Minister – Hon. Semisi Sika says, the vision of the scholarship program contributes to the benefit of the country as a whole in ensuring good quality education for everyone.

Sika adds, the beautification of the village also helps with progress of the students in school as they are now implementing Tonga Masani program in Havelu – to Havelu Masani – as Sika believes keeping the country beautiful will help students study in a peaceful and harmonious environment.

Meanwhile, estate holder of Haveluloto – Lord Fielakepa encouraged the 53 recipients to do their very best in the classroom and to succeed. He urged them to remember the sacrifices made by the parents and the Talakeiola Kava Club that enabled them to complete their studies.

Lord Fielakepa then presented scholarships to the 53 recipients of Haveluloto for next year’s academic year.

The scholarships for this year was worth around TOP$14,000.
