Japan signs four new projects for the communities

Japan’s Ambassador to Tonga signed four new projects yesterday, through the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects widely known as GGP.
The projects include upgrading of Houma Community Health Center, upgrading the water supply system for the Hihifo District, two new classrooms block and new bathroom block for GPS Ha’alalo and also renovating of three classrooms and a fence for GPS Fua’amotuu.
Japanese Ambassador H.E Tetsuya Ishii says the initiative aims to promote a better living for all.
“Our initiative today will firstly help restore community health center for the people of Houma district by helping with the expansion of medical facilities, I would like to ask the kind assistance of the Ministry of Health in supervising the project and taking good care of the facilities so that it will serve the present and future generations of people in the Houma District. Secondly in regards to increasing accessibility for the clean and stable water supply, I am glad that the people of the Hihifo district will soon have this basic need.”
The projects are at a cost of USD$300,000.
