Chief Magistrate longest serving public servant

The Ministry of Law and Justice will mark 50 years of public service of the Chief Magistrate – Sione Folau Lokotui. Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga news this morning, Lokotui says he believes that honesty and respect are the two main characteristics to solve the problems in the government workplaces.
Sione Folau Lokotui began working as a civil servant in 1969, at the age of 16.
He believes that in order to prevent any crisis in the workplace, the staff should at least have these two main characteristics of honesty and respect.
He adds, these two main characteristics are the key to solving any issue between the staff and employers.
Lokotui says, if there is no honesty and respect in the workplace, there will be tensions, also loss of trust and confidence.
The Ministry this evening will host a special program to mark 50 years of Lokotui’s public service during their annual Christmas party.
