Three Tongans recognized in New Zealand’s New Year’s honours

Fifteen people from New Zealand’s Pacific community have been recognised in the New Year’s honours, including three Tongans.
Sulieti Fieme’a Burrows, Kolovula Murphy, and Rev. Kalolo Fihaki are being recognised for their services to the Pacific community with Rev. Fihaki being awarded the Honorary Queen’s Service Medal for services to the Tongan community in New Zealand, Kolovula Murphy awarded the Queens Service medal, while Burrows is awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Tongan art and education.
These honors are presented to reward and highlight the assistance of the recipients to their respective communities.
