JICA host Safety Management Seminar on NEWS project

Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA this morning hosted a Safety Management Seminar on the nationwide early warning system and strengthening Disaster communication – with the contractors and consultants to develop their knowledge on safety during work. This morning an In-House consultant from JICA led a one day Safety Management Seminar focusing on construction safety and the health of the contractors.
JICA’s Resident Representative in Tonga – Nobuaki Matsui says the aim of the program is to develop the knowledge of the participants’ regarding safety precautions in the workplace – to help minimize fatalities.
“Which is to protect the human life from natural disaster through improve the early warning system and all project to come in the future I hope the seminar today will propose good opportunity for each and every participant to be fully motivated to minimize risks and to work for wellbeing all worker of the construction workers,” says Matsui.
Meanwhile, Technical Manager of Tonga Broadcasting Commission who was one of the participants – Solomone Finau says, the program is very helpful in helping construction workers understand their health and well-being is a priority.
The program was led by an in-house consultant from JICA – Masakazu Fukuwaka who hopes that by the end of their major construction projects currently underway including the new Tonga Broadcasting Commission building – no injuries or any fatalities will be recorded.
Also attending this morning’s program were experts from JICA and representatives from related stakeholders.
