With the island of ‘Eua set to host some major events this year – the locals as well as the people of ‘Eua abroad, have begun their preparations including village clean up campaigns, in anticipation of these events that are set to draw a large number of visitors to the island throughout the year.

The government representative – Sunia Havea says families have begun renovating their homes, some are preparing for the large crowds to visit, constructing additional structures to accommodate the visitors expected later this year.

This is in addition to the major renovation projects currently underway such as the renovation of the main wharf on the island and preparation in the agriculture sector.

Havea says the people of ‘Eua are excited for these events which include the Free Wesleyan Church annual conference, the beginning of the Royal Agriculture Show, and other events that the island is hoping will be opportunities to generate more money for their local businesses.
