Westernmost villages benefit from REACH Program

The villages of Kanokupolu and Ha’atafu in the Hihifo District this morning got the opportunity to learn more about some of the government ministries during the Ministry of Internal Affairs REACH program.
The minister for Internal Affairs – Vatau Hui led the teams visit to the villages also marking the beginning of the programs visits to rural villages and to the outer islands aimed at providing those in rural villages and outer islands far from the capital, the chance to learn about the government ministries, their operations, and to be able to have their relevant issues addressed by the representative of the corresponding ministry.
In an interview with town officer of Kanokupolu – Metui Taukei’aho said this was a good opportunity for the villagers to hear from representatives of the ministry while at the same time taking up concerns that they may have with the ministries. Taukei’aho believes this will build closer relations between the public and the government ministries and will hopefully be result in the publics issues being addressed.
