85% road maintenance project completed – Prime Minister

The Prime Minister yesterday announced that 85 percent of road maintenance work has been completed as was urgently requested by the constituencies of Tongatapu 8.
Hon. Dr Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa says government are now working on other urgent needs requested by the people including homes that were affected from Tropical Cyclone Gita.
One of the issues raised by a constituent – Peni Tu’alau was the request for a dialysis machine as he believes people’s health should be a priority because people’s health are more important than the road maintenance projects currently underway.
The PM responded, they are currently working on addressing the issue with specialists in these area expected to arrive in Tonga in August.
Other issues raised included the water supply system, street lights, amongst others.
More than 90 people attended yesterday’s meeting at the FWC church hall at Vaini.
