HRH Princess Pilolevu opens Tourism new office and named it ‘API KO LATA’ANGA

HRH Princess Pilolevu yesterday officially opened the new Tourism office, and named it ‘API KO LATA’ANGA.
In her remarks, HRH Princess Pilolevu stressed the significance for the staff of the Ministry to carry out their duties based on Tonga’s four golden strands – especially serving the people and tourists with respect.
HRH adds, as tourism officers, they must represent the country well especially to those travelling from abroad and their services should reflect the reason why Tonga was called by Captain James Cook the “Friendly Islands.”
She urged the staff from the ‘Api ko Lata’anga to carry out their jobs to the best of their abilities.
HRH also says, Tonga is unique because of the culture and ‘Api ko Lata’anga is the right place to instill those cultural values into the stuff of the Ministry in order to uphold these traditions and values for the next generations.
These traditions and values will attract more tourists into the country.
The construction project was funded by the Tourism Ministry in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure, worth $1million pa’anga.
Also attending yesterday’s program was the Prime Minister – Hon Dr. Pohiva Tu’ionetoa, Ministers of the Cabinet, CEO’s and many invited guests.
