Police investigates the death of Salvation Army counselor

Police are currently investigating the death of a Salvation Army counselor who had been helping youth in Tonga struggling drug and alcohol abuse, following an incident last Friday night at Ma’ufanga.
A Senior Police officer says, a 19 year old man has been arrested after Cook died in hospital yesterday morning.
Ned Cook was the Team Leader for the Salvation Army Alcohol and Drugs Awareness Centre in Nuku’alofa.
He previously hosted trainings for drug and alcohol addicts with hope they’ll overcome their situation and have a better future.
Cook was born and raised in Ma’ufanga but migrated to New Zealand in 1973 and he to return to Tonga early last year to assist people who have problems with Alcohol and Other Drugs as well as prevention of family violence.
