Students and Teachers of Beulah Primary School today mark the completion of the construction of 2 classroom buildings, under the reconstruction project following Tropical Cyclone Gita.
The construction of these buildings were made possible by aid from the World Bank – estimated to be worth 20,000 pa’anga.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News this mornings – the school principal – Fe’ofa’aki Satui says these buildings had been one of the oldest buildings of the school, having stood for 72 years before they were damaged in TC Gita in 2018.
The construction work had begun in February but was soon halted due to COVID-19 restrictions, but after the restrictions were eased they were able to begin construction again and was completed earlier this month.
In a special ceremony this afternoon, the school along with the ministry will be marking the opening of the new buildings.
There are more than 200 students studying at the Beulah Primary School.
