China donates equipment to MIA

The Women’s Affairs Division this morning was delighted with assistance from the All-China Women’s Federation, in partnership with the Embassy of China to Tonga.
A handover ceremony was held this morning, signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Vatau Hui and the Ambassador of China to Tonga HE CAO Xiaolin.
China’s Ambassador to Tonga, HE Cao Xiaolin says, the grant aims to assist in the training and the improvement of local women’s working skills all in the interest of empowering women and promoting gender equality within the Ministry’s division.
“I am very happy to attend this handover ceremony of the donations of 30 computers and two portable projectors from All China Women’s Federation to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is a small token of partnership from All China Women’s Federation to their Tongan sisters. As China’s ambassador, I would like to see and would like to work hard to promote these sisterhood relationship flow in the years ahead.”
Meanwhile, Minister for Internal Affairs Vatau Hui, expressed his appreciation to the Chinese government for their kind assistance.
“The donation from the All China Women’s Federation, which includes 30 laptops and two portable projectors – comes at a very opportune time with the COVID-19 restrictions. This communication equipment provides us to the opportunity to promote and develop communication with our ministry to be able to properly conduct training and assist into local women’s working skills in different roles – not only on the main island but also one the outer islands.”
The assistance provided included 30 laptops, 30 laptop bags, 3 mouse and 2 projectors.
