Road Maintenance a pressing need from ‘Eua

The road maintenance project was among issues raised by the people of ‘Eua during their people’s representative’s parliamentary visit.
Speaking to Radio Tonga news this morning, Tevita Lavemaau says, the road maintenance project has been completed in 10 villages in ‘Eua with only 5 villages remaining. He adds, they tend to complete the remainder of the project within the next 2 – 3 weeks.
The people of ‘Eua also raised that they want their local produce to be exported overseas so that the growers may earn better income for their families.
Another issue raised was on the damaged hall and rooves of ‘Eua High School with major renovations needed to enable the hall be used for the school’s graduation this year.
There are currently repairs being done to the Nafanua wharf after it was heavily damaged by Cyclone Harold, with the completion date scheduled before Christmas, due to the importance of sea travel.
