New classrooms for QSC funded by Japan

An upgraded classroom building for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training facility at Queen Salote College in Nuku’alofa, was handed over last Friday from the Japanese government, after the school had requested for renovation.
The principal of QSC – Dr ‘Asinate Samate says that there is a need to empower students studying vocational program so that they are able to generate income for their families next year.
The upgrade includes three classrooms which consists of classrooms for sewing, food preparation and different school programs such as the maintenance of stoves and sewing machines.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Ambassador to Tonga, HE Tetsuya Ishii expressed his gratitude in having the chance to assist the school in terms of promoting the importance of technical education amongst female students.
The project is worth $80,000 US dollars.
