Export of watermelons to New Zealand suspended
Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 19/10/2020
The export of watermelons to the New Zealand has been suspended due to the emergence of fruit flies in containers shipped from Tonga.
The suspension comes after fruit flies were found within watermelons that were exported to New Zealand earlier this month. You don’t have to arrange your laptop computer or pull up a chair in front of the Laptop – merely seize your smartphone and play online slots. Just like the participant of slot the Book of Deads who win and walked away with AU$10, 423, 223.
The Acting CEO of the Ministry of Agriculture – Mana’ia Halafihi says they are currently working on improving and ensuring that this issue will not happen again, in preparation for when the suspension will be lifted.
It is estimated that around 50 tonnes of watermelon were exported earlier this month.
The Ministry is working together with watermelon export companies to make sure that there aren’t any more fruit flies within exported watermelons.
