16 Police officers suspended since January

Since January to last week, Tonga Police has suspended about 16 police officers.
Police Spokesperson says these officers are suspended on disciplinary grounds and alleged for criminal activities.
Most of the suspended officers are men however women police officers are also involved.
No further details were released but last week the Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell, suspended a 42 year old police officer alleged for assault and bodily harm of a police recruit.
Police spokesperson says the victim is well and has returned to school.
Commissioner strongly emphasized that every police officer is accountable to the law not above it.
Police have charged the suspended police officer with assault and bodily harm.
