It is vital for boys and girls to have Jesus Christ in their lives and behave like Christians.
This is the theme highlighted during a get together program by the youth of the FWC of Mataika otherwise known as Mo’unga Heamoni.
Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga News, Church Minister of FWC Mo’unga Heamoni – Rev. Tangi-mei-muli Tu’ipulotu says, the program was put in place to engage young people in useful activities during the holidays.
This is to keep them busy during this period which is full of challenges with lots of partying and consumption of alcohol endangering the lives of young people.
He adds the initiative is to get young people to talk and meet daily and to know each other better and work hand in hand to develop the church and community activities as they will soon welcome the New Year.
The activities of this special program for young people included a choral recital last Sunday night, traditional and cultural items, various Polynesian dances, sports activities, cleaning up the village amongst others.
More than 60 young men and women are participating in the Mo’unga Heamoni Church’s special holiday get together and is expected to end before school starts next year.
