Mt. Sinai group won some of the competitions by the youth of Vaotu’u

The Mt. Sinai group won the Tongan Traditional dance Category, during the 3 day program by the Youth of the FWC of Vaotu’u last Friday night.
The program started on Thursday with a music competition and was won by Mt. Zion group.
The music competition was divided into several categories including a hymn, ancient religious music (usu), anthem or chorus and action songs. .
Featured on Friday evening was the Tongan Traditional dances Competition including solo dance, group dance from both male and female , Polynesian dances etc.
Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga News, the Leader of the Youth Kelekeleke Eke says, they can see the outcome of the program through the lives of their young people.
He adds, normally every Holiday season, young people are involved in social activities that ends up in disturbances in the village from consumption of alcohol.
Kelekele Eke says, they have witnessed changes in the lives of these young men and women because they spend more time attend the programs organized for them.
The three day special celebration for the Vaotu’u youth ended with a float last Saturday and sporting events.
