Women in the Pacific be given a voice on climate change issues during international negotiations

Pacific women are attending a 4-day training in Fiji on having negotiation skills to make their voices heard during international climate change negotiations.
‘Ofa Maasi Kaisamy of the Climate Change division of MEIDECC represents Tonga at the meeting.
Kaisamy told Radio Tonga News this training is vital because women are more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
She says the training will deepen their skills and knowledge on how to negotiate on the issue with other countries.
Ofa says the focus of the meeting is a follow up from the roadmap of the COP 23 also the Paris Agreement.
22 women from around the Pacific, are attending the program.
Australian government is funding the training through Women Environment and Development Program.
