MV Maggie Cat returned to Australia yesterday after 7 months operation in Tonga

The MV Maggie Cat is on its way back to Australia after 7 months operating sea transportation services between the islands of the kingdom.

The ferry was hired by FISA – Friendly Islands Shipping Agency to temporary services the islands during the maintenance and repair of the MV ‘Otuanga’ofa at the Suva dock.

The TOP$10,000.00 daily chartered vessel – left with 5 crewmen from Captain Cook Cruises.

The vessel completed its contract on January 15th but delayed returning after one engine failed.

MV Maggie Cat was a high speed vessel but carried only passengers with 7 kilograms carry on per person.

Mosese Fakatou the General Manager of FISA earlier said there was no debt accrued for the charter of the vessel only the local costs of half filled voyages to the outer islands.
