Motion of no confidence vote against the Prime Minister to be tabled next Monday

The motion for a vote of no confidence will be tabled in the Legislative Assembly next Monday – February 20th, 2017.
Information from the Assembly says according to the rules of procedure of the house, the motion shall be balloted within 5 working days from the date it was first tabled in the Legislative Assembly of Tonga.
As such, the motion shall be balloted by end of business on Monday February 27th 2017 – which is Monday week.
The notice of the motion was distributed to the members after direction from the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Lord Tu’ivakano.
This was issued upon completion of the vetting of the motion by the Standing Committee on Privileges to ensure it complies with the due process.
Details on members of the Legislative Assembly who signed the motion will be released when the motion is read in Parliament.
