PM praised refurbishment Reddy Group carried out for the Tanoa International Dateline hotel

Prime Minister – Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva praised the great refurbishment the Reddy Group carried out to the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel.
He said the dateline hotel was in a very poor condition at the time and urgently needed upgrading so Tonga immediately negotiated with foreign investors.
“…Successful negotiations conducted by the Ministry of Finance and National Planning with the Reddy Group led to signing of an agreement in March 2015. Such project contributes heavily to economic development. Government continues to seek to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth through the promotion of closer public and private partnership for growth through further strengthening of the business environment in Tonga…”
Prime Minister made the comment while addressing the momentous occasion of the official launching of the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel by His Majesty, King Tupou VI, in Nuku’alofa yesterday.
“…Tanoa has increased the availability of international standard accommodation and conference facility in Tonga and looking forward in attracting more tourists to our shores and to boost the increase number of corporate international conferences including the upcoming Pacific Games 2019…”
New Zealand’s Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development, H.E Matua Shane Jones made a comment during the occasion. He is leading a business delegation to affirm stronger links friendly investment with Tonga and he acknowledged the great work the Reddy Group has performed in the region as on a High quality standard.
Managing Director -Rohit Reddy thanked everyone for the great team work. Prior to the formal presentations, he led their Majesties in the Inspection of sites at the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel.
Their Majesties – King Tupou VI unveiled a plaque to mark the auspicious event in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u.
Princess Royal – Pilolevu Tuita and Lord Tuita, members of the Royal Family, Cabinet ministers, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.
