Tailulu College marked its Golden Jubilee year during the weekend

Tailulu College marked its Golden Year of Jubilee last Saturday.

A special sermon was conducted to mark the auspicious event led by the President of the Free Church of Tonga – Rev. Semisi Fonua.

In his keynote address he emphasized the significance for church members especially the students, teachers and ex- students to work together to develop and improve the standards education.

He said, members should work in the spirit of peace and with God’s Grace – anything is possible.

Rev. Semisi Fonua urged members to build safer environments for students especially on their spiritual and physical lives.

The President of the Church elaborated on the importance of healthy living and for students to maintain healthy diets.

Attending the program was the Speaker of Parliament – Lord Tu’ivakano, distinguished guests and others.

Ex-students of Tailulu College in Australia also marked the special event with their own program abroad.

Tailulu College was established on February 2nd 1967 with more than 400 students.

At the moment there are more than 600 students studying at Tailulu College.

Prior to the establishment of the college, the church hosted a primary and  school called the Ako Tonga in Nuku’alofa and the outer Islands.
