Outer islands mostly affected by the Depression that visited Tonga during the week

Some of the Outer islands were mostly affected by the Tropical Depression that visited Tonga during the week. It affected roads, power supplies, trees and others.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News this morning, Sipiliano Vaohea of the Ministry of Infrastructure in ‘Eua says, road maintenance is currently underway on the Tufuvai Road, which was washed by the heavy rain.
Similar work will be carried out on the main road from ‘Ohonua to Fata’ulua.
Reports from Radio Tonga’s Correspondent in Vava’u – Filomena Hansen says, the island’s electricity supply was affected, and a power black out was experienced for most of yesterday but is now back to normal.
However, according to our corespondents in Ha’apai – Moimoi Fakahua, Falati Papani in Niuafo’ou and Niuatoputapu – Losaline Pongi, trees were the mostly affected by the strong and gusty winds.
