Former CEO of TCC withdraws appeal to the Appeals court, after an hour of discussion

Counsel of the appellant Rizvi Jurangpathy withdrew his appeal this morning after an hour of submission.
William Clive Edwards submitted to the presiding judges of the Court of appeal that his client former CEO of the Tonga Communication Corporation have no further say on the issue raised.
Mr Edwards also requested a consideration of the costs of appeal for his client for there is another case in a different court that his client will have to bear.
The costs will be later submitted to the Judges pending the return of the Acting Attorney General who is curretnly overseas.
The appeal was for the ruling by Chief Justice Owen Paulsen to dismiss the application filed by the appellant to stay an investigation on him by the respondent.
The withdrawal comes after Semisi Lutui of the crown Law told the court that an investigation concluded with recommendation to dismiss the appellant.
The court also heard that TCC conducted their own investigation on the former head of company.
This was the first case heard after Chief Justice Paulsen welcomed the 3 judges includes Michael Moore, Peter Blanchard and Rodney Henson.
The court of appeal continues this afternoon with the case of Mouifo’ou ia Kalaisi, Rev Sione Havili Maile and Sione Amanaki against the ruling by Justice Paulsen in November 2016 to vacate the property at Ha’ateiho in favour of Tokaikolo ‘ia Kalaisi.
