Two men arrested on alleged fraudulent activities relating to passport application

Tonga Police Task Force arrested two men over fraudulent activities on a passport application.
A 44-year-old man of Kolofoou was charged with forgery and false declaration.
The second accused was a 54-year-old man of Tofoa – charged with forgery and knowingly dealing with forged document.
They are on bail and will appear at the Magistrate Court on March 20th 2017.
Deputy Police Commissioner ‘Unga Fa’aoa says the investigation of passport fraud is taken very seriously.
They do not tolerate such action and will put those related to fraud Tongan passport to court.
The taskforce has now arrested 25 people since it’s work commenced in 2015.
12 convictions have been entered to date, by the Courts.
