Minister of Finance and National Planning priorities the 2019 Pacific Games on his agenda

Hon. Tevita Lavemaau – the Minister of Finance and National Planning says his Ministry’s priorities includes the Pacific Games in 2019, to ensure that all facilities and sporting venues are ready by then.
It also includes road, health and education.
Speaking to Television Tonga News this morning, he says he hopes that Tonga might host a Mini Games prior to the Pacific Games in order to make sure that Tongan athletes are ready to compete in the Regional Sports.
Tongans overseas can participate in the Mini games.
He adds the budget for the 2017-2018 financial year will be submitted to cabinet and parliamentarians towards the end of April, to provide them an opportunity to go through the budget before discussing it in Parliament.
Lavemaau says, CEO and staff of the Planning Ministry is working on the budget based on information provided by the Government Ministries.
