Local Businesses including TCC very supportive of Tonga’s National Rugby team to the Hong Kong sevens

Businesses in Tonga continue to assist the Tonga National rugby Sevens Team as they prepare to represent Tonga Next week in the Hong King Sevens.

Digicel Company this morning presented various assistance to the team and CEO – Ben Kealy said, this is their move to show their support to the team.

“We’ve been sponsoring a lot of the travel attires from short to jersey to short to socks to tops to bags, our partner Samsung has also been able to supply some Samsung handset for all the teams travelling for players to keep in contact with their families while overseas, we’ve also been able to support them individually with some money”, says Ben.

Meanwhile the captain of the team – Fautasi Tonga Ma’u of Falaleu, Neiafu Tahi Vava’u thanked Digicel for the assistance.

FauTasi says, this will no doubt help them achieve their goal which is to WIN the sevens tournament.

He concluded by asking the people to pray for them as they’re preparing to represent the country.

Meanwhile Tonga Communications Corporation – TCC this afternoon presented a cheque of 2thousand pa’anga to the team.

Speaking to Radio Tonga News, the Acting CEO – Sione Veikoso says, because they know rugby is one of the popular sports in Tonga they’d like to do a little donation for the team as part of their give back to the community.
