Tonga reports its current status on hosting the 2019 Pacific Games during ONOC’s meeting in Nadi

With less than 900 days left, Tonga assured the Oceania National Olympic Committee – ONOC’s meeting underway in Nadi, Fiji that it will host the games despite the remaining constructions and renovations underway.
Attending the meeting is Tapinga Lavemaau of Radio and Television Tonga News and reports that the meeting is attended by senior officials from ONOC and the Pacific.
He says Vanuatu was proud that they’re on time with their preparation to host this year’s Mini Pacific Games which will begin on December 4th until the 15th.
Vanuatu also highlighted that his Government’s support, has empowered their sports committee to complete everything on time
Lavemaau says, Lord Sevele of Vailahi Chairman of the Organizing committee is attending the meeting with the CEO of TASANOC – Takitoa Taumoepeau.
Takitoa told the gathering several work needs to be completed on time because all the venues needs to be completed a year ahead of the games to enable athletes to have time to train on these new facilities.
He says one of the facilities that’s need to complete on time is the golf course at Popua, but he assured the gathering, things are up and running now and Tonga is optimistic and is looking forward to the sports.
