Chinese Ambassador to Tonga Huang Hua Guang completes his 3-year assignment in the kingdom

His Excellency, Mr. Huang Huaguang, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tonga on Monday bid farewell to the Prime Minister, Hon. Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva at the Prime Minister’s Office. HE Huang Hua Guang will be leaving Tonga on the 21st of this month back China after 3 years and four months of service to the Kingdom of Tonga.
Prime Minister’s office statement says, during their meeting The Hon. Prime Minister, thanked His Excellency for all the technical, cooperative and professional assistance the Chinese government has offered towards the development of Tonga, especially with the quick recovery and reconstruction of Nuku’alofa since the disaster of the riots of 2006.
The Hon. Prime Minister said that Tonga’s socio-economic relations with the Chinese government and community in Tonga needs to be continually strengthened as the Chinese community grows.
Meanwhile H.E Huang Hua Guang thanked everyone for the support and help while he was here in Kingdom.
Amongst the many important projects China has assisted Tonga with, includes the construction of the St. George Palace, the Agricultural Technical Cooperation in Vava’u III, Agricultural Technical Cooperation in Tonga IV, the Ha’apai Royal Residence and the Chinese Technical Expert Team Phase III amongst many others.
