Mai e 5 project continues its campaign on the importance of living a healthy life

The Mai e 5 project continues its campaign on developing and prioritizing to the young people of Tonga, the importance of living a healthy lifestyle at a young age.
This includes encouraging them on healthy eating such as eating fruits and various vegetables.
A program was held last Saturday at Nishi Trading farm at ‘Utulau as part of Mai e 5 project.
Kiko Penitani the project coordinator says, the program aims at teaching children at a young age how to plant vegetables and fruits not only that but to teach them how to look after the plants.
There are 10 primary schools that are participating in the project, including government primary schools of Popua, Longolongo, Ha’alalo, ‘Atele si’I, Pelehake, Mu’a, Lapaha, Ha’amonga, Acts Community School and Ocean of Light.
Kiko adds after this year’s project, they hope they can expand the project to primary schools in the outer islands.
