Typhoid cases is receding since the beginning of this month

The Ministry of Health has recorded a decline in the number of typhoid cases.


Director of Health – Dr. Siale ‘Akauola said, since the outbreak in February there were 4 cases, increasing to 6 in March and April. Since the beginning of this month only 2 cases have been reported.


He said, this is an effective outcome of their outreach programs with active cases on advising the public with health tips during outbreak.


This includes, adapting to hygienic lifestyle, keeping amenities clean, clean water supply is healthy amongst others.


Director of Health says he is grateful to the support provided by town officers and chruch leaders towards the typhoid campaign.


He also urged the public to be more cautious during the festive season especially with the churches annual conferences and national programs.
