Supreme Court dismiss appeal from the crown against Paula Falevai for possession of unlicensed rifle
Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 30/05/2017
The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal from the crown against the respondent Paula Falevai for possession of an unlicensed fire arm.
Justice Charles Cato did not allow the appeal due to insufficient evidence beyond reasonable doubt that Falevai had a point 22 rifle.
There was also no eye witness to prove the incident.
The case was first dismissed in the magistrate court in February 2016.
