New Zealand’s Prime Minister to visit Tonga next week

New Zealand’s Prime Minister – Rt. Hon. Bill English will visit Tonga next week. Information from Foreign Affairs said, he is expected to arrive next Thursday 15th of June.
While in Tonga, he will meet with the Prime Minister – Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva, Deputy Prime Minister and head of ministries.
Rt. Hon. English told media, New Zealand had deep links with Tonga and he’s looking forward to the opportunity to exchange views and discuss ways to support shared goals.
New Zealand has funded various projects including, solar for renewable energy, assistance to Tonga Police and to name a few.
Accompanying the Prime Minister will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs- Gerry Brownlee, Minister for Pacific People – Alfred Ngaro alongside leaders and representative of parties from across the House.
The mission is a reflection of the close relationships between New Zeland and Pacific island countries including Cook Island, Niue and Tonga.
The delegation will depart from New Zealand on Tuesday and returns on Saturday 17th June.
