FWC delegates arrived safely in Vava’u Island yesterday

Delegates and Members of the Free Wesleyan church general conference have arrived safely in Vava’u yesterday evening.

 

Those are church members from Ha’apai,’Eua,Tongatapu and abroad.

 

Secretary General Rev. Dr. Tevita Havea said the church appreciates God’s providence and protection of more than 2000 members who are gathering in Vava’u for the 94th Annual Conference of the church.

 

The conference official Program commences today with fasting and the choral recital to welcome the delegates tonight.  The election of president and general secretary will follow tomorrow and His Majesty will officially open the conference on Thursday morning.

 

The given theme for today’s fasting is the current conference’s theme Holy spirit renew Christian education.

 

The theme for the upcoming conference period will be “Holy Spirit renew the Education Division of the church.

 

Tevita sauid delegates will also participate at the Mailefihi Siu’ilikutapu College 70th anniversary celebration on Saturday

 

This year’s conference will last for 10 days as members will remain for His Majesty’s birthday next Tuesday and other national events including the Royal Agricultural Show.
