Inspection of items for the Royal Agricultural Show underway

Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 30/06/2017

More than 2000 people are participating in thousands of competitions judged before the actual Royal Agricultural Shows throughout the Islands.
Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture are currently inspecting the items to be presented on the final day including visiting the farms, gardens and women’s tapa making groups in Tongatapu.

The inspection in the outer islands has been completed and they are gearing up to welcome His Majesty to their respective island districts.

The Royal Agricultural Show will begin in the island of Vava’u next week.

The theme for this year’s Show is – “A rich farm still grows wild yam or Teve, to prepare for times of emergency, meaning it is always important to have alternatives in case a disaster strikes.”
