People from 22 villages and islands in Vava’u fortunate from Japan’s multimillion assistance

About 22 villages and islands throughout Vava’u are fortunate after a multimillion assistance from the Japanese Government.


The projects includes installation of water pumps and solar pumps in the islands including Koloa village in Vava’u.


Speaking to Radio Tonga News – Koloa’s town officer Minaati Fifita – says 35 families are benefitting from this kind assistance.


He says in previous years they used water supplies from an underground well but was later damaged due to overuse.


The multi million project was launched by the Hon Prime Minister Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva and Japan’s Ambassador – H.E Yukio Numata.


The launching of the project was held in Vava’u this week and was attended by Government officials, nobles of the realm, members of parliament and many guests.
