The National ‘Ikale Tahi players will each receive TOP$6,000 each from the Tongan government.

Cabinet approved the donation on June 29th for each player who played in the match against Samoa to receive 3000 pa’anga each and another TOP$3,000 each for the team to play against the Flying Fijians this Saturday.

Government is also donating another ten thousand pa’anga to the Tonga Athletics Sports Association.

The financial contribution is also extended to National team’s official’s allowances, the live radio and television coverage of the games and purchasing of admission tickets.

This assistance demonstrates the leadership and commitment by government to building confidence and investment in its athletes, supporting a strong Tongan sports system to progress from early sports experiences to high performance excellence.

The government also wishes the ‘Ikale Tahi team a good game against the Flying Fijians this Saturday, July 8th.

Earlier today a float parade led by Tonga Broadcasting Commission’s Sports Committee was held in Nuku’alofa and joined by other supporters of our national team.
