Miss Galaxy’s first judging event started last night

The Queen Salote Memorial hall was packed last night with people gathering to support Miss Galaxy Beauty Pageant’s first Judging event for 2017.


The first event included the 10 contestants showcasing their red gowns – Digicel Theme, as they are the major sponsor of the competition and their own creations.


In his welcome speech, the reigning Miss Galaxy Queen – Diamond Vea spoke of this year’s program and its theme “Beauty of One-ness”.


Diamond says, Beauty is not how you look or what you wear or how attractive you are, but what comes from the heart such as love, respect, humility and gratitude.


“This year we had so many activities throughout this week, where we give our contestants less sleep. This year we conducted various community activities we started our galaxy season with a rainbow market day for people to come. This year we were able to visit the alonga center and Hu’atolitoli prison and that was the first time for the contestants to do this visitation. The heartfelt and the feeling of accepting each other communities, reaching out with respect and acceptance and this was the highlight of our competition is seeing joy from our sisters and brothers from alonga and tolitoli, they were overjoyed.”


Miss Diamond Vea was crowned the Miss Galaxy Queen on December 2015.


Last night’s program started with the introduction of the 10 beautiful contestants

Ironicah All – Miss Taufa’ahau Village

Carri Leonard Jackson – Miss Lady Maria Australia

Rihanna Brown – Miss Tonga Netball

Natisha Tonga – Miss Manaui Group

Eva Tanya Douglas – Miss South Pac Builder supplier

Sarabi Avan Jogia – Miss Tonga Hawaii

Giovanna Emily Mafi – Miss Jowella Hiring & Even Planning

Bellarina Aldama Hansen – Miss Laquinda restaurant pea mo Kaina Henderson Tauvaka, Miss Havelu Bulldogs Rugby.


Attending last night’s program as the guest of Honor, was the Patron of Tonga Leiti Association – Hon. Lupepau’u Taione and many guests.


The competition will continue tonight with the contestants performing their own talents and talents on the theme “Beauty of One-ness”
