Residents of ‘Utulau optimistic of consistent water
(Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 07/06/2016)
Residents of ‘Utulau were in their festive spirit on Friday while marking a new water pump machine for the village, thanks to assistance from the Humanitarian Welfare of the Church of Jesus Christ and latter day saints.
This was after years of suffering from inconsistent water supply.
Speaking during the program, Rev. Kalisitiane Fonua of ‘Utulau thanked the church for this assistance and says, their first water pump was problematic, and pipes that distributed water to homes in ‘Utulau were not safe.
Meanwhile Elder Chris Waddoups from the Church’s Humanitarian Welfare services urge the locals to take good care of the pump so it can benefit generations of ‘Utulau.
Radio Tonga News understands other villages throughout Tongatapu has been fortunate from the same assistance from the LDS church.
